Two NSCDC personnel die in Ondo auto crash

At least two personnel of the Ondo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) lost their lives in an auto crash along the Ondo-Ore highway in Ondo State.

The operatives were reportedly returning from the burial ceremony of a mother of one of their colleagues in Okitipupa area of the state when they met their untimely death.

The six-passenger space wagon bus, which conveyed the deceased and other passengers, was said to have veered off the road and somersaulted into a ditch, killing the two officers and injuring one other passenger.

The State Commandant of the NSCDC, Okoro Eweka confirmed the unfortunate development to newsmen.

He said the incident was a moment of sober reflection for the command.

The injured person in the crash was taken to the Ondo State Trauma Centre, while the remains of the deceased were deposited at the morgue of the Ondo State General Hospital.
