#EndSARS protesters defy Osun government 24-hour curfew

‎Despite the imposition of a 24-hour curfew by the Osun State government, #EndSARS protesters on Wednesday stormed Osogbo, the state capital, to demand an end to police brutality.

The Osun State government had on Tuesday imposed 24 hours curfew in the state to curb the escalation of violence in the state.

However, the protestants in defiance of the order besieged and mounted barricades at Olaiya junction, Osogbo.

In response to the defied curfew, scores of soldiers stormed the convergence spot of the EndSARS protesters.

It was gathered that about seven military vans converged at the protest ground.

However, eye witnesses said the soldiers displayed a high level of civility and professionalism while addressing the protestants.

The soldiers who were fully armed listened to complaints lodged by protesting youths against alleged brutality, extortion and extra-judicial killings by operatives of Special Anti-Robbery Response Squad.‎

The youths protested peacefully as they insisted on a total end to police brutality in the country. ‎
