Just in: Trump taken to US Military hospital after showing COVID-19 symptoms

President Donald Trump has been taken to Walter Reed Army Medical Centre after showing some symptoms of the novel coronavirus disease.

Trump and his wife, Melania, tested positive to COVID-19 on Thursday night after a White House aide — close to the president –also contracted the virus.

“President Trump remains in good spirits, has mild symptoms, and has been working throughout the day,” Sean Conley, Trump’s physician, said.

“Out of an abundance of caution, and at the recommendation of his physician and medical experts, the president will be working from the presidential offices at Walter Reed for the next few days.

“President Trump appreciates the outpouring of support for both he and the First Lady.

Sources said the president is presently being treated with regeneron anti-body cocktail.

The White House has also ruled out the possibility of transferring power to Vice President Mike Pence while the president receives treatment at the military facility.
