Police arrest traffic robbers, recover weapons in Lagos

 

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested nine suspected traffic robbers in the state on New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2020
The operation which was carried out by the Ketu Division is part of the Command’s zero tolerance for crimes and criminality, particularly traffic robbery within Lagos State.
The suspects were arrested at about 8pm along Y-junction, by Old Tollgate, Ketu, while attacking one Mr Adejare Adetayo and his wife in the traffic at the area.
A statement signed by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, revealed that two long knives and other dangerous weapons were recovered from the suspects.
The suspects are identified as Oluseyi Afolabi, Adeyemi Ayomide, Francis Latifa, Rilwan Raji, Ayomide Oyediran, Rasheed Ibrahim, Hamzat Abdullahi, Musa Gbadamosi and Seun Lasisi.
They have been transferred to the State CID, Panti, Yaba, for proper investigation on the order of the Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu.
Odumosu commended the operatives for the successful operation and reassured Lagosians of adequate safety within the state.
