Boko Haram leaders Abubakar Shekau and Abu Mus’ab Al-Barnawi topped a list of most wanted terrorists released by the Nigerian Army on Wednesday.
Seventy-eight other terrorists were also on the list, which the Theatre Commander of Operations Lafiya Dole, Maj. Gen Farouk Yahaya, released during an event which held at Chabbal Super Camp in Maiduguri, Borno State.
“We are here to witness the launching of four batches of wanted Boko Haram terrorists, as you know, this is not the first time, so we will launch third batch of wanted terrorists shortly,” Yahaya said at the event.
Speaking at the occasion, Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum appealed to the outlawed groups to stop the destruction and embrace peace.
Banners which contained names of the suspects was handed over by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, to Zulum.
Some of the names which appeared on the lists include Abubakar Shekau, Abu Mus’ab Al-Barnawi, Modu Sulum, Umaru Tela, Iman Balge, Abu Umma, Mallam Bako (Hisbah), Abu Dardda and Ibrahim Abu Maryam.
