Zulum lays foundation for N2 billion bus terminal

 

Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum on Monday laid the foundation for the construction of a N2 billion worth new bus terminal in Maiduguri.

The massive structure, 49,000 square meters concrete embedded bus terminal, will comprise 373 lock-up shops and 220 market stalls ( a total of 593 shops and stalls), sited along Bama road in Maiduguri,

Zulum, who said at the flag-off that the project is expected to be completed within 18 months, charged the contractors to work within stipulated time while maintaining high quality in executing their work.

The governor said the present Bama road motor park will be relocated to the new terminal when completed, with a new mega school sited where the motor park is now located.

Commissioner of Commerce, Yerima Kareto disclosed that 10 contractors, who have been mobilized with 15 percent of the contract sum, were involved in the project.

Speaking on behalf of project handlers, Engr. Usman Monguno assured the governor that work will be done according to high standards and specifications of the design.
