A 60-year-old man, Ibrahim Ibuoye, has been arraigned before an Ogun State Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ota for allegedly trespassing on the farmland of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
The said farm – Obasanjo Farm Limited – is located in Ota, Ogun State.
Ibuoye was arraigned for breach of peace, forceful entry, causing damages and conspiracy.
The man however pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Ibuoye and others at large were alleged to have committed the offence on August 26, 2020.
Police prosecutor, Rosemary Samson, told the court that Ibuoye and his accomplices were armed with weapons and forced their way into the farm.
Samson also alleged that the Ibuoye damaged a Honda Accord car with number plate LSD 655 EV belonging to one Kazeem Ajiboye.
The alleged offences contravened sections 81, 390(9), 451 and 517 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun State, 2006.
Magistrate B. S. Abdulsalam admitted Ibuoye to bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The magistrate ordered that the sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and be gainfully employed with evidence of tax payment to the Ogun State Government.
The court also directed that the sureties must have landed property within the jurisdiction of the court as part of the bail conditions.
