Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi has commended the Saturday’s hitch-free local government congresses of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across state, an exercise that makes the state an example of peace politics.
Bello, who said this in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Onogwu Muhammed, on Sunday, added that the elections birthed leaders of the Party in the 21 local government areas of the state.
According to Bello, the local government congress just like the recently held ward congresses adopted a consensus system in selecting the leaders at all levels.
He added that the consensus ensured putting into consideration, the choice and the will of the party members hence there were largely reports of fanfare in all the local government.
While thanking the party members for their continued cooperation in sustaining a peaceful, united and strong political party in the state, Bello noted that since his leadership the APC has continued to wax stronger.
The governor said that the APC have also conquered unprecedented terrain while it also recorded geometric increase in its numbers.
Bello said that a large amount of the success could be adjudged to be as a result of the style of leadership in which the people were given the desired role to make their choices while his administration provided a fair, just and equitable leadership.
He further urged the elected Executives to ensure that they justified the confidence reposed in them while they strived to maintain peaceful co-existence in the part.
The he added will enable the party to become more desirable to many others. (NAN) (www.nanews.ng)
