Asisat Oshoala’s club, Barcelona Femeni, made history on Sunday night by beating Levante 4-2 to win the Copa de la Reina and complete a historic treble.
Two weeks ago, the 26-year-old won the UEFA Women’s Champions League for the first time, after Barcelona thrashed Chelsea 4-0 in the final in Gothenburg.
A week earlier, the Super Falcons captain helped her club to a record sixth Spanish league title.
After winning the Copa de la Reina in Leganés, FC Barcelona is the first European team to have two triplets with the men’s team and one with the women’s team.
In the Copa de la Reina final, the opening goal came after just four minutes when Patri Guijarro headed home Lieke Martens’s cross from the right to get Barca off to the perfect start.
Martens was the creator again on 20 minutes with another ball into the box, this time from the left, which was headed home by Alexia Putellas.

The two goals put Barca in charge and a third arrived just before the half-hour mark from another header. This time it was Marta Torrejon applying the finishing touch to yet another Martens delivery.

Levante were in all sorts of trouble but managed to regroup and will feel they should have had a goal back before half-time. Sandie Toletti saw two headers fly past the post, while Estefanía Banini fired wide when she really ought to have hit the target.
After a slow start to the second half, the game exploded into life when Levante scored twice in eight minutes to get right back into the game. Alba Redondo gave Levante a lifeline by rounding goalkeeper Cata and slotting home just before the hour mark.
Banini then made it 3-2 on 67 minutes with a strong shot on the half-volley from inside the box after the ball fell kindly to her following a save from Cata.
Barca looked to be wobbling but hit back minutes later through Alexia’s second of the match to make it 4-2. The goal came after Levante gifted the 27-year-old the ball and she took full advantage by firing across goal and into the back of the net.
