We Generated N6.1trn in 2024 says Customs CG

Amidst the nation’s dwindling economic base, there appears to be renewed hope in the horizon as the Nigeria Customs Service has announced a 90.4 percent increase in its revenue generation in 2024.

The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Bashir Adeniyi who dropped the hint in Abuja, Tuesday said the service collected N6.1 trillion in revenue last year.

The figure represents a sharp increase compared to the N3.2 trillion the service generated in 2023.

Adeniyi noted that the service surpassed its 2024 revenue target of N5.07 trillion by 22 percent.

According to him, the Nigeria Customs Service recorded the highest revenue collection in October, when it collected N603 billion.

“Unprecedented performance in 2024, the service recorded N6.105.315 trillion. This is above the N5.07 trillion 2024 revenue target by 22 percent, “he stated.
