Buni condoles with Borno on death of Emir

Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai-Mala Buni has condoled with the government and people of Borno state over the death of the Emir of Biu, Mai Umar Mustapha Aliyu

The Governor, in a statement by his spokesman, Mallam Mamman Mohammed, described the late emir as a man of peace who worked all his life promoting peace and peaceful coexistence in his emirate (Biu), Borno state and Nigeria.

The governor said: “Biu emirate has recorded peaceful coexistence with unprecedented developments during his reign of 30 years on the throne.

“The late Emir had during his time also promoted pursuit of education among youth and encouraged his subjects to be self-reliant through agricultural production.

“He will be remembered for his principle of justice, fairness, and equity to the people throughout the period he occupied the throne”

He said: “Our condolences go to the Biu royal family, the emirate council and the entire people of the emirate over this monumental loss.

The governor prayed on behalf of himself, government and the good people of Yobe state that Allah grants the soul of the late emir rest in Al Jannatur Firdaus and for the government and people of Borno state the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
