Cars, shops destroyed as tanker explodes in Niger



At least 50 shops were on Monday destroyed by a fuel tanker explosion at Lambatta in Gurara council of Niger State.

The incident occurred about 11 pm on Sunday.

It was learnt that the tanker, which was loaded with Premium Motor Spirit, exploded after crashing with a trailer.

Sources said before men of the State fire service arrived from Suleja to put out the fire, shops and cars had been razed.
